Prague Study Abroad

Hi! My name is Emma, and I am a junior at Iowa State University studying Supply Chain Management and International Business. Since I started attending ISU in August of 2016, I have had a couple of opportunities to travel through clubs I have been a part of and classes I have taken. For example, I spent June – August of 2017 living in Vicenza, Italy, through the Camp Adventure Child and Youth Services Program. While abroad, I saw so many beautiful places, met incredible people, and ate the best food. The photos I have attached below show these experiences visually.

One of our first trips was to Burano, Italy. I loved seeing all of the colorful buildings in this small, charming town.
I ate this spinach tortellini in Verona, Italy, and my life changed. I can only hope I taste pasta this extraordinary again in my life.
One of my favorite pictures from that summer was taken in front of the
Colosseum in Rome. It was very humbling to stand in front of an
amphitheatre constructed in 70 AD.

Luckily, I had another opportunity to study abroad last summer in Australia for an international business course–MKT 492: Comparative Marketing. Even though we only stayed in the country for two weeks, I learned so much about Aussie culture, climate, and natural beauty. Check out the pictures highlighting my trip below!

Before visiting companies, my roommate and I went for a jog on the Sydney Harbour Bridge. We got to view the jaw-dropping sunrise over the Opera House.
Later in the trip, our group had the opportunity to scuba dive on the Great Barrier Reef in Cairns, Australia. Seeing all of the corals and fish up close made this experience one of the best days of my life.

As a result of traveling to these places, I have grown so much as a person and gained hands-on knowledge of other countries and cultures. I decided to try a longer study abroad experience this semester in Prague, Czech Republic, because Central European history absolutely fascinates me. Only a week until I depart for four whole months 🙂 Děkuji!
